Lincoln Heritage Museum remains open for normal operating hours (Tuesday-Friday 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday 1 pm to 4 pm), despite the closure of Lincoln College in May of 2022.

To assist educators, the Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development has developed lesson plans and activities to foster greater character using the model of Abraham Lincoln.  Additionally, the ALCCD also hosts a limited number of retreats for students in schools.  For more information, contact the Center at [email protected]. 

 

The Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development, in cooperation with the Lincoln Heritage Museum, has developed brochures available in the Legacy Gallery of the museum, which highlight each of the character traits of Abraham Lincoln: honesty, empathy, humility, perseverance, courage, vision, intellect, responsibility, civility, and leadership. Each of these brochures provide stories on Abraham Lincoln’s character development and how he exhibited character. Each brochure also implores the reader to examine his or her own life to challenge how that character could be better revealed and shown to those around us. The Abraham Lincoln Center for Character Development holds a character library consisting of books and pamphlets on Abraham Lincoln and character. The materials cannot be removed from the facility, but the public is invited to use these resources.  Please call the Center and make arrangements prior to a visit.
